Sheraton Westport Plaza — 900 Westport Plaza, St. Louis, MO | October 2026
Captives.Insure will be on the ground at the Mid Rivers Risk Forum, the Midwest's gathering point for risk managers, brokers, and alternative-risk professionals. The 2026 edition carries the theme "Advancing Risk Leadership Across the Midwest," convened in partnership with the Missouri Captive Insurance Association, the Missouri Self-Insured Association, and the state's RIMS chapters.
The forum's program tracks the same questions our underwriting desk works through every day: where retained risk belongs, how severity and litigation trends are reshaping loss picks, and what regulatory movement means for fronted structures. Sessions span alternative risk strategies, claims and loss control trends, regulatory and legislative insight, and risk technology — a practical agenda for insureds evaluating captive participation rather than a survey of theory.
The published 2026 schedule opens Sunday evening with a student welcoming reception at Westport Social, hosted by the Ozarks Area RIMS Chapter. Monday is dedicated to the MRRF Student Edition, with educational sessions led by Missouri State University running through the afternoon and a Risk Leaders welcoming reception that evening at the Outdoor Village at West Port.
The risk leaders' program anchors the following day. Charles S. Gascon, Economist and Assistant Vice President at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, delivers the keynote, followed by concurrent educational tracks covering workers' compensation fundamentals, claims administration, workplace technology and its role in mitigating liability, and drug safety penalties, with additional captive-focused sessions to be announced. The day closes with an all-attendee social session and a reception at 360 West Port.
If you are weighing a captive feasibility study, restructuring an existing program, or pressure-testing collateral and fronting terms ahead of renewal, we would welcome the conversation in St. Louis. Reach us at info@captives.insure to schedule time on site.
